The incidence of circulating anti-sperm antibody (ASA) in the general male population is 10-20%. Vasectomised males have an increased incidence of sperm antibody up to 60-80%. Serum anti-sperm antibodies are also found in 10-15% of infertile women without organic disease. The incidence of circulating ASA depend on both specimen source (serum, seminal fluid, cervical mucus) and the fertility status of the individual.
