Clinical Info

Identification of micromegakaryocytes, cytologically abnormal megkaryocytes, and megakaryoblasts
Cluster of differentiation 61 (CD61) shows cytoplasmic staining of normal and abnormal megakaryocytes and occasional endothelial cells. Antibodies to CD61 are most useful in recognizing micromegakaryocytes, cytologically abnormal megakaryocytes, and megakaryoblasts in cases of acute megakaryoblastic leukemia, myeloproliferative disorders, and myelodysplastic syndromes.
