Classification of lymphoproliferative and plasma cell proliferative disorders
CD38 (cluster of differentiation 38) is expressed in a variety of cell types including hematopoietic precursors, plasma cells, germinal center B cells (weakly), a subset of T and NK cells, erythrocytes, platelets, prostatic epithelium, and smooth and striated muscle cells. Its expression maybe useful in the diagnosis of lymphoproliferative and plasma cell proliferative disorders.
