Friendly and experienced couriers assure your specimens arrive at the laboratory on time to assure the highest test quality. Gajema, a “FedEx®” style electronic tracking system, is used by our Courier Department to ensure the proper tracking and delivery of your specimens.
In addition to our excellent support services, North Shore-LIJ Laboratories also offers: home care phlebotomy, patient service centers, and STAT testing. Our STAT testing turnaround time is less than 4 hours from the time of call which is unprecedented in this region.
In-office, computerized test ordering and insurance based specimen routing have become industry standard. Our laboratory uses an in-office web based order entry system which links the physician’s office directly to the laboratory. This system virtually eliminates errors in specimen routing and improves office efficiencies. Unlike any other laboratory systems, this system gives the clinician the ability to view inpatient as well as outpatient results.
